An advocate so enrolled with any state’s Bar Council can directly practice in any Court within that state. If he chooses to take up a case of any other state, then he should intake an Advocate of that state for the case and to be a counsel on record and this Advocate can join that state’s Advocate and be a accompanying counsel for the case and make representation in the case.
A good advocate is one who has the following qualities such as paying you enough attention, who gives patient hearing to you and can understand the substance of your dispute. He should be able to advise you the merits and demerits of your dispute legally. He should be able to explain the proper procedure to be followed in resolving your dispute and be able to visualize the problem in case, it goes beyond till it is resolved on the basis of law and fact situation. You may offer to pay him reasonable fees for issuing legal notice and also for case from stage to stage. Don’t try to bargain the fees unnecessarily in order to make him feel disinterested, but request him/her to charge a reasonable fee.
